Nathan was 13 years old when he joined the newly formed Bruce Long Orchestra in November, 1989. He has since gone on to be one of the most popular musical entertainers in the Hickory area.

David Wortman, Jr.

David joined the orchestra at the age of 14. Today, he is the band director at Northview Middle School in Hickory and serves as the conductor of the Western Piedmont Youth Symphony. Here, he was the featured on clarinet on the Benny Goodman theme song, Let's Dance.

Steve Shumaker

Mike was with the orchestra in the mid 2000s and served as both an alto and baritone saxophonist. Mike's soprano sax solo in the Bob Troup tune, Route 66 helped make the evening extra special.

Steve Shumaker

Steve was with the orchestra from 1991 until 2018 and served in both the lead alto and primary tenor sax positions. He was featured on the classic ballad, Come Back To Sorrento.
